Crazy JOY.

This is the image of the quilt and pillow I made that was styled for one of the Express Magazines some time ago. The wall quilt and bag were made by my friend Karyn Herbert who owns 'Get Stitched' a patchwork shop in Armidale. This became an add so that Karyn could sell kits.

I wanted to record a few bedtimes memories from the last week. This is Crazy JOY - Capri style.

When I read to Capri at night I have taken to putting up the rainbow pillow behind my head to save me from the edge of the bedhead. It would be quite comfy if it wasn't for a small girl who has decided she should also put her head on the rainbow pillow at the top of the bedhead. What follows is a series of quirms, wiggles, the odd head butt and general discomfort for both of us. It is so ridiculous it makes me laugh. SO. I no longer use the rainbow pillow at all. I sit up straighter and either hold my head or rest it on the wall.

A few nights ago I was up to songs and Capri requested the 'stay' song. I said that I didn't know the stay song - could she give me a hint. "No you give me a hint" she says. Feeling creative I make up a few 'stay ' songs only to be quickly hushed up. "No that's not it, sing the 'stay' song. Both of us are chuckling at this stage, although I'm getting a bit frustrated that I might never work it out and therefore never get her to sleep. "OK" says I. "This is Mum's bedtime repertoire, Jesus Loves me, Baa Baa Black sheep, Little Miss Muffet, Insey Winsey Spider and Away in a Manger".
"Yes, Yes, Away in a Manger" she says laughing (relieved I'd finally worked it out).
"Oh, really" Boy am I relieved I'd finally worked it out. Now I'm chuckling too much to sing the words and work out where "stay" fits into the song. Finally we get there in my muddled up singing of this Christmas Carol come lullaby.
Be near me Lord Jesus
I ask thee to STAY
close by me forever
and love me I pray.
What a good part to hold onto - my pray is that she does forever know that Jesus is always close by her and loves her.

That is so beautiful. We pray for both Capri and Bronte that Jesus will always be their Saviour and Lord.
