mihi lunch

With church finished and lunch organised for the girls, a quick trip to drop them home and extra warm things gathered we set off to the Mihi winery about 20km out of town. It was a bleak day and we were a little concerned about being outside to eat. We arrived to find our table outside on the veranda overlooking a very pretty setting, but we started with some wine tasting inside. We all striped of our jackets knowing we were going to need them if we were going back outside later. Andrew and Bel Close are the owners. Andrew looked after the talking and the tasting and Bel provided the most fabulous shared lunch. Thankfully Bel decided that it was far to cold outside and organised for the table to be moved inside. In the warmth of indoors we enjoyed stuffed capsicums, smoked ham, puff pastry stuffed with goats cheese and asparagus, selection of cheeses, mini quiches and more. It was a great way to do lunch and hoping to give a similar idea a run for after church lunches at home. It was just so nice to share good food and company with friends.
This was the first time that these guys have had a group for lunch but we think that it will not be the last.
